Preschool Early Stimulation
Do you want to discover, develop, and expand
your child's multiple intelligences?
Gravity strongly believes in Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences; people have not only intellectual intelligence, but many kinds!
To help expand your child's intelligences Gravity has created a brand new Early Stimulation Program. Our program provides a fun, multi-sensorial experience with hands-on and real-life activities. These class activities are designed to help expose your child to a stimulating, educational environment and enhance the development of your child's individual talents.
Did you know?
The first 3 years of life are critical for brain development. Brain connections enable us to move, think, communicate, and do just about everything! How do we build these connections? Through doing! Research shows that movement and sensory activities strengthen and bond the essential brain connections.
It is important to consistently expose your child to a stimulating and educational environment. Gravity's Early Stimulation Program was created with this in mind! The goal of our Early Stimulation classes is to help create the architecture of a child's brain that will serve him or her for a lifetime!
Areas of Development
Multiple Intelligences
The model of multiple intelligences proposed by Howard Gardner says that there are different types of intelligences and that each individual develops those that stimulate the most. Each person has a high potential to be able to highlight and strengthen multiple intelligences!
Multiple Intelligences Include:
- Kinesthetic
- Musical & Linguistic
- Logical-mathematical
- Naturalistic
- Spatial-visual
- Interpersonal & Intrapersonal
Gross Motor
Gross motor skills are movements that involve the largest muscles of the arms, legs, feet or the entire body. These types of movements are important for young children to practice because they help children learn how to coordinate and control their body.
Gross Motor Abilities Include:
- Strength Development
- Increased Flexibility
- Endurance Building
- Improved Coordination
- Learning Body Awareness
Fine Motor
Fine motor skills are the precise movements that involve the small muscles that control the hands and fingers. These skills are necessary for many aspects of self-care (tying shoes, brushing teeth, etc.) as well as preparing your student for writing.
Fine Motor Abilities Include:
- Writing
- Coloring
- Cutting
- Dressing
- Eating
Language
Speech, language, and communication are critical areas of children development. A child who is surrounded by speech and language in the early years usually learns language skills faster and it leads to excellent academic performance later on.
Benefits Include:
- Expressing Thoughts, Feelings, Emotions
- Communicating Basic Needs
- Problem Solving
- Building Relationships
Cognitive
Cognition is more than just learning information. It's the ability to think about new information, process it, and apply it. It refers to your child's mental capacity and it is immensely important because it forms the foundation for many of the other skills your child will learn later in life.
Benefits Include:
- Language Abilities
- Decision Making
- Attention and Focus
- Problem Solving
- Cause and Effect
Socio-emotional
Emotional Development is an investment in the future! It provides the child with a series of tools to help them recognize, understand, and express one's own emotions and others in a positive way.
Benefits Include:
- Expression
- Management of Emotions
- Empathy
- Positive Self Image
- Relationship Skills
Every Class is a Magical Journey of Discovery!
In addition to multiple physical exercises and gross motor skill development, each class incorporates a variety of activities in which children explore the theme of the month by engaging in multi-sensory activities. These activities will enhance the development of your child's individual talents, through the stimulation of multiple intelligences, and their cognitive, physical, emotional and social abilities.
Physical Fitness
Physical activity is vital for children’s health, wellbeing and development, now and in the future. It can be any activity that involves moving your body. For kids, playing is a natural way for them to move and be active!
Our tiny athletes will be active through movements such as:
Crawling, Walking, Running, Jumping, Climbing, Throwing, Gymnastics Skills, and more!
Yoga
Through music, games, stories, dances, and structured postures your child can achieve a mind/body balance. Yoga practices channel excess energy, allowing the child to develop their own strategies to manage their emotions.
Our tiny yogis will learn topics such as:
Attention, Self Control, Breathing Techniques, Stretches, Mindfulness, Easy Yoga Poses
Arts and Crafts
Art is a universal language that allows children to communicate their ideas, express emotions and sensations, all while improving their concentration. Arts and crafts stimulate your child to think creatively and enhance their imagination.
Our tiny artists will express themselves while learning fine motor skills such as:
Painting, Coloring, Decorating, Cutting, Pasting, Drawing
Music
Music is a type of language that allows emotions and thoughts to be expressed through body expression, rhythm, and spatial awareness. Through music, children have fun singing, dancing, and learning how to create music and sound.
Our tiny musicians will learn about music through:
-
Dancing and Singing, Following Song Directions, Creating Musical Instruments, Playing Musical Instruments, Short Choreographed Routines
Story-telling & Reading
Reading stories stimulates imagination, develops social skills and helps toddlers learn about the world. By reading aloud to your child, it essentially provides them with background knowledge on their world, which helps them make sense of what they see, hear, and eventually read.
Our tiny readers will participate in story-telling by practicing:
Letters, Words, Language, Listening, Comprehension, Reasoning
Sensory Experiments
Sensations in children are one of the main sources of all knowledge and, therefore, learning will depend on all the sensations that they receive from their environment. Sensory play offers children a unique opportunity to engage with the world in a way that helps them grow and develop.
Our tiny sensory scientists will experiment with real life elements such as:
Different Textures, Nature Objects, Food, Noises, Play-dough
